The opportunity
Join a global manufacturer in the industrial automation market as it expands its electric automation and machine-control business in the UK.
This is a consultative sales role focused on OEMs and machine builders. You’ll inherit an established customer base with significant growth potential, supported by experienced application engineers who can assist with system design, sizing and technically complex opportunities.
This is not a cold-start territory or high-volume cold-calling role. The focus is on developing existing relationships, winning greater share and converting known opportunities.
What you’ll do
- Manage and grow a portfolio of OEM accounts across your territory.
- Understand customers’ machines, applications and control architectures.
- Develop solution-led opportunities across PLCs, motion, drives, communications and wider electric automation.
- Build relationships with engineers, technical stakeholders and commercial decision-makers.
- Create account plans and maintain a strong pipeline.
- Work closely with application engineering colleagues to deliver the right technical solution.
What we’re looking for
You’ll combine sales ability with a credible understanding of industrial automation and machine control.
Experience could come from an automation manufacturer, distributor, systems integrator or solution provider. OEM sales experience is preferred, but broader relevant experience will also be considered.
You should have:
- Experience in industrial automation, controls or electrical automation sales.
- An understanding of technologies such as PLCs, drives, motion, industrial Ethernet and control systems.
- A consultative, commercially focused approach.
- The ability to develop accounts and grow a territory strategically.
- A full UK driving licence.
An engineering qualification would be useful but is not essential where supported by strong industry experience.
Why join?
- Established accounts with genuine untapped potential.
- A consultative role rather than transactional product selling.
- Strong technical and application-engineering support.
- Home-based working with ownership of your territory.
- The backing and credibility of a market-leading international manufacturer.
- The opportunity to play a key role in an ambitious UK growth strategy.
