Field Service Engineer – Injection Moulding Machinery
Home-based in the UK – ideally Midlands or a well-connected UK location

UK & Ireland travel
Full-time, permanent
I’m partnering with a globally leading manufacturer of factory automation machinery to recruit a Field Service Engineer for its injection moulding division.
This is a customer-facing, hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of installations, breakdowns, maintenance and technical support across the UK and Ireland. You’ll work independently, backed by the resources and technology of a highly respected international engineering business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Installing and commissioning injection moulding machinery at customer sites
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control-system faults
- Providing on-site and remote breakdown support
- Completing inspections, servicing, adjustments and component replacements
- Supporting auxiliary equipment and implementing upgrades
- Training customers in the safe operation and maintenance of their equipment
- Maintaining accurate service reports, parts records and equipment histories
- Building trusted relationships with customers and identifying opportunities to improve their manufacturing processes
What we’re looking for:
Recent, hands-on experience with plastic injection moulding machinery is the priority. You might already be an established Field Service Engineer, or you may have completed an engineering apprenticeship and gained several years of practical experience since qualifying.
This is predominantly a Monday-to-Friday position. You’ll normally be visiting customers rather than working from an office, with overnight stays varying according to workload—typically around two nights per week, although some periods will involve considerably less.
The package:
- £45,000–£50,000 basic salary
- Company car
- Overtime opportunities
- Annual profit share—typically around one to one-and-a-half months’ salary, subject to company performance and scheme eligibility
- 25 days’ annual leave
- Christmas Eve and your birthday off
- Pension contributions
- Private medical and dental insurance
- Life assurance
- Critical illness cover
- Group income protection
- Travel insurance
- Employee assistance programme
- Employee discounts and rewards
- Long-service awards
If you have current injection moulding machinery experience and want to join an internationally successful manufacturer offering excellent technology, variety and long-term career potential, I’d be keen to speak with you.
