A superb opportunity to join one of the big global players in the industrial automation market. We’re on the lookout for an Application Engineer to cover Scotland. It’s a fully remote role (based in Scotland, working from home), splitting your time between working from home and visiting customers across the region.

What does an Application Engineer do?

A role focused on pre-sales and technical support.

You are the technical expert who speaks the customer’s language, ultimately helping the sales team identify opportunities to implement automation solutions. You’ll be the person behind the design of automation solutions, presenting it to the customer, and helping them bring it to life.

You’ll be sitting at the forefront of technology, utilising the latest and greatest technologies to ensure their production is future-proof. You’ll also be the technical point of contact for the local partners (distributors, integrators, etc.) where they need an in-person presence. The product portfolio is extremely broad, covering both products and systems, including everything from sensors, robotics, PLCs, drives, and many others.

What are we looking for?

A candidate with a strong understanding of industrial automation (Ideally at least 2-3 years of experience). You should be comfortable talking to customers (plant managers, engineers, service teams, company owners), self-motivated, and comfortable working in a remote environment. Naturally, you should be based in Scotland and possess a valid driving licence.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer sponsorship for this role (now, or in the future). We are open to both junior and experienced profiles, with a pay scale that complements that.

What’s in it for you?

  • Working for one of the global leaders in industrial automation.
  • Huge training and progression opportunities.
  • Fully remote working contract, with local colleagues for training and social elements.

If you’ve got this far, hit apply! Alternatively, contact me (Michael Frankland) directly at mf@franklandautomation.com with a copy of your CV.

I look forward to talking to you.
