IT-OT System Architect – Smart Manufacturing (Germany – Remote)

The Role – Architecture & Design Focus

As an IT-OT System Architect, you’ll be responsible for designing and defining the technical blueprint for complex OT-IT integration projects. You will:

  • Architect systems connecting PLCs, industrial PCs, HMIs, and edge devices with cloud and IT platforms
  • Utilise industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP) to define robust, scalable designs
  • Work closely with customers to map requirements into technical architectures and integration strategies
  • Support Proof of Concept (PoC) projects from a design and validation perspective
  • Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure successful delivery of your designs

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in system architecture for OT/IT projects in manufacturing
  • Strong consulting skills — able to engage with global clients on technical design decisions
  • Broad technical knowledge across industrial automation, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity
  • Ability to produce clear, detailed architecture documentation and integration plans
