Controls and Automation Engineer

Location: Blanchardstown, Ireland

Frankland Automation are hiring for a leading global provider of automation solutions, offering comprehensive services across process, building, and manufacturing automation. This is an ideal role for a candidate with 2+ years of experience who is looking to join a company with clear training, development opportunities, and the chance to work across a broad selection of automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Instrumentation & Electrical Design (20%)

• Create instrument lists by reviewing P&ID drawings
• Prepare submittal and procurement documentation for control and instrument hardware
• Provide technical support to panel fabrication teams and inspect completed control enclosures

System Design & Configuration (30%)

• Participate in customer design review meetings
• Set up development systems using project hardware and computers
• Configure user interfaces and HMI screens
• Develop and configure DDC, PLC, and/or DCS control algorithms
• Draft system documentation from templates
• Assist with customer demonstrations and acceptance testing

Onsite/Online System Startup (50%)

• Install project software and system configurations at customer sites
• Perform instrumentation and system start-up and testing
• Troubleshoot installation issues and make field modifications as needed
• Assist in creating training materials and presentations for system operations and maintenance

Required Qualifications:

• Professional level English (C1, C2, or Native)
• Engineering Degree (MBO, HBO, MS, or BS) in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Based in (or willing to relocate to) the Greater Dublin area.
• Strong preference for an EU passport holder due to EU-wide travel
